Founder's Imperative | Satnam Singh Sandhu

Since the past twenty years, we have been building a legacy in the name of this city beautiful, an odyssey that began with the establishment of Chandigarh Group of Colleges in 2001, followed by the foundation of Chandigarh University a decade later.

The city of Chandigarh historically represented India's pride and best urban hopes for the future of its citizens and was developed as modern city much before transcending modernism became a fashion. What started as statement of national pride and archetype of the new contemporary India, has today taken a rollback to mediocrity and a run-of-the-mill status.

The creation of Chandigarh Welfare Trust is hence driven by the aspiration of working for the citizens of Chandigarh and restituting the city as a landmark of development for other cities in India and among the leading cities of the world. Chandigarh Welfare Trust’s course will be to sustain, advance, and promote wellbeing of the people of Chandigarh, and reinstate the glory of our city beautiful to the farthest corners of the world through impact-oriented programs aimed at improving the status quo on every facet of the city.
